Pork rice paper rolls originated from the countryside of Central Vietnam, especially the Quang Nam - Da Nang region. This dish stems from the simple lifestyle of the locals, where they made good use of readily available ingredients such as free-range pork, home-grown fresh herbs, and rice paper made from rice or cassava. Today, pork rice paper rolls are considered the "essence" of Quang Nam cuisine, frequently appearing in family meals, festivals, or as gifts. The specialty lies in the local "le" rice paper (thin yet pliable rice paper) from Quang Nam, paired with two-end skin pork—the best cut of meat with crispy skin, tender fat, and firm lean meat. The dish is not only delicious but also reflects the "wrapping" culture, representing connection and sharing in Vietnamese cuisine.
