Son Kieu Eco-Tourism Area is located in Truong Xuan Commune, Quang Ninh District, Quang Binh Province, about 50km west of Dong Hoi city center. It is set amidst majestic nature, featuring primary forest landscapes, crystal-clear Kieu Stream, and the unique Son Boi Cave system. The name "Son Kieu" is a combination of two elements: Son (mountain, referring to Son Boi Cave) and Kieu (Kieu Stream flowing at the foot of the mountain).

The route to Son Kieu is a wonderful experience with beautiful mountain scenery and charming small stilt houses of the Bru - Van Kieu ethnic people glimpsed along the road. From Dong Hoi city center, travel west past the Ngan Thuy Commune People's Committee, then turn right and follow the road signs. Total travel time is about 1 hour by car or motorbike.

• The road is relatively convenient, but you should check the weather forecast before departing, as western Quang Binh can experience heavy rain during the rainy season (October - December).
• If traveling by motorbike, ensure the vehicle is in good condition and bring helmets and raincoats.
• Visitors can rent a 4-to-7-seater car for about 700,000 - 800,000 VND depending on the vehicle type.
