Che Sau Lien is not just a familiar sweet treat, but also a story of resilience and ingenuity of Da Nang people. Over 30 years ago, Ms. Lien – the founder of the brand – started with a small shop on Hoang Dieu Street, selling simple dishes like coconut jelly and flan to local neighbors. The shop back then was humble, with only a few plastic tables and chairs, but was always packed because of its genuine touch and refreshing sweet soups amidst the Central region's sunny noon.
In 2008, Ms. Lien relocated the shop to 175 Hai Phong (Thanh Khe District), which is now considered the brand's "original flagship location". From a sidewalk stall, Che Lien quickly became widely known thanks to its unique durian sweet soup recipe—a harmonious blend of fresh durian, lightly rich coconut milk, and the refreshing taste of Central Vietnamese sweet soups. Thanks to this, the dessert not only won over local foodies but also became a "sweet stopover" for tourists from everywhere.

More than three decades have passed, and Che Lien still preserves its original spirit: delicious, clean, affordable prices, while expanding to over 6 branches in Da Nang and major cities such as Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. What is precious is that its fame did not come from massive advertising, but from the natural affection and support of customers. From pupils and students to foreign tourists, everyone visiting Da Nang stops by to eat, take photos, and share on social media as part of the “Da Nang travel ritual”: visiting the beach, enjoying Mi Quang, and savoring a cool bowl of Che Sau Lien.
