The bus and tour guide will pick up guests at Dong Hoi city center. Prepare to embark on a journey exploring two contrasting aspects: magnificent natural beauty and heroic war history.
The bus continues to pick up guests in the Phong Nha area. Transfer to Paradise Cave – known as the “underground palace”.
Located in the core zone of Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park, Paradise Cave features a magnificent stalactite and stalagmite system, stretching over 1km with the longest wooden walkway through a cave in Asia. It is one of the most beautiful dry caves in the world, discovered in 2005.
The tour guide will explain the geological formation history, cave structure, and million-year-old stalactite layers.
Rest and enjoy specialties of the limestone mountain region.
Along the route crossing the Truong Son Mountain Range, visitors will hear about the strategic role of the Ho Chi Minh Highway – the vital supply line for the Southern battlefield during the anti-American resistance war.
Hien Luong Bridge is a historical witness to the partition of North and South Vietnam for over 20 years. Visitors will learn about:
- The 17th Parallel – the temporary demarcation line after the 1954 Geneva Accords
- The “battle of sound” between the two sides of the bridge
- Symbols of division: the two-color painted bridge, opposing flagpoles, white border line, etc.
- The relic site now serves as a place for traditional education and has been restored to its original state for tourism.
Famous for the 81-day-and-night battle in 1972 – one of the fiercest battles in the Vietnam War.
This citadel dates back to the Nguyen Dynasty and is now a memorial to thousands of fallen soldiers. Visitors will hear about the battlefield, artillery bombardments, and the resilient fighting spirit to protect the revolutionary flag.
The largest Catholic pilgrimage center in Vietnam, rich in religious and architectural history. It served as a cultural and spiritual connection point in the former frontline region.
