Saigon – Cu Chi 1-Day Tour | Experience the Dynamic City & Resilient Land

Detailed itinerary

• Morning: Bus and Tour Guide pick up the group

  The vehicle and Tour Guide will pick up the group at 175 Pham Ngu Lao, Pham Ngu Lao Ward, District 1, to depart for the 1-day Saigon City - Cu Chi tour. 

  The group begins the journey to visit famous destinations around the city such as:

  • War Remnants Museum: A place that preserves and displays artifacts from the wartime period.
  • Independence Palace (Reunification Palace): an attractive must-visit destination when coming to Saigon. Independence Palace features architectural style symbolizing the desire for the nation's eternal existence. 
  • Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica: One of the iconic landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City. Built in 1880, it is not only the most important religious site in the city, but Saigon Notre-Dame Cathedral is also a unique French-style architectural work in Vietnam. 
  • Ho Chi Minh City Central Post Office: Located at No. 2, Paris Commune Square, District 1. The Post Office was constructed between 1886 and 1891 by the famous architect Gustave Eiffel. The exterior front of the building is decorated with rectangular panels honoring inventors of the telegraph and electrical industries. The Central Post Office is currently the largest post office in Vietnam. 

• Noon: Lunch at a restaurant in the city

  After finishing the four attractions in central Saigon, the vehicle and guide will take the group to have lunch at a local restaurant in the city. 

• Afternoon: Depart for Hoc Mon

  The group departs for Hoc Mon to visit Cu Chi Tunnels - Learn how former Vietnamese guerrillas built, lived, and fought in the underground tunnels: 

  • Explore Cu Chi Tunnels - an underground defense system located in Cu Chi District, Ho Chi Minh City. Construction began in the 1940s during the anti-French resistance period. Here, visitors will witness crude handmade weapons, bamboo spike traps, crawl through the tunnels, and watch local people making rice paper and rice wine. In addition, visitors also have the opportunity to shoot real guns at the shooting range in the tunnels (expense at own account).
  • After emerging from the tunnels, visitors will enjoy the famous cassava dish here. This main food source sustained tens of thousands of soldiers and locals during the war years. Besides, at the Cu Chi restaurant, visitors can also taste dishes made from famous Cu Chi beef (at own expense). 

  End of the 1-day Saigon - Cu Chi tour. Visitors will capture memorable photos with new friends from this trip. Finally, the vehicle and guide will take the group back to the city center, concluding the journey. The guide will say goodbye and see you again on future trips.
