Chuon Village, also known as An Truyen Village, belongs to Phu An Commune, Phu Vang District, Thua Thien Hue Province, located about 7-10 km from Hue city center. This is an ancient village with a history dating back to the Nguyen Lords era, closely tied to the Tam Giang Lagoon system – one of the largest brackish water lagoons in Southeast Asia. According to historical documents, Chuon Village was established in the 17th century when settlers migrated from other regions to reclaim land and build their livelihoods around fishing and farming. The name "Chuon" originates from the village's location next to Chuon Lagoon, an area abundant in fish and shrimp, fostering a local economy based on fisheries and traditional craft villages such as making shrimp paste and fish sauce.

Today, Chuon Village is not only an eco-tourism destination but also famous for its local market, which bustles from early morning with the cheerful voices of fishermen and visitors. Travel to Chuon Village is often combined with exploring the lagoon, paddling boats to watch the sunset, or participating in the Chuon Village festival during the Lunar New Year, featuring cultural activities such as folk singing, boat racing, and enjoying local specialties. It is this picturesque natural setting combined with rustic cuisine that has turned Chuon Village into a "paradise" for those who love authentic experiences in Hue.
