Detailed itinerary
The bus and tour guide pick up the group in central Hue City. Begin the journey to the frontline region of Quang Tri – once a fierce battlefield during the anti-American resistance war.
Stop at the Ancient Citadel – a historical witness to the 81-day and night battle in the summer of 1972. The tour guide presents the strategic location of the citadel, the fierce battles, and the great sacrifices of thousands of soldiers to hold the defense line.
The vehicle takes the group along National Route 9 – a strategic route connecting East and West Truong Son, which served as a vital military transport artery during wartime.
Stop at Da Krong Bridge – a symbol of the legendary Truong Son Trail. Here, guests learn about the role of this route in transporting weapons and food to the Southern battlefield.
Continue to Khe Sanh to explore Ta Con Airfield – a key US military base and the site of a 170-day battle in 1968. Observe war artifacts, the runway, bunkers, and remaining defense fortifications firsthand.
The vehicle transfers guests to enjoy lunch with local specialties at a local restaurant and relax on site.
Depart northward toward Vinh Linh coastal region – where locals lived, fought, and survived underground throughout the destructive war years.
Explore the unique 3-story tunnel system spanning nearly 2 km – once an "underground village" for over 60 households and local soldiers. Witness living spaces, meeting rooms, a medical station, kitchens, and more right underground.
The vehicle takes the group onward to the historic bridge that divided North and South Vietnam for over 20 years.
Listen to explanations about the 17th Parallel, a symbol of division and the yearning for national reunification. Take photos at the historical complex featuring highlights such as the 17th parallel marker, exhibition hall, loudspeakers, and more.
