Hue is located in a tropical monsoon climate zone with two distinct seasons that directly affect the mountain climbing experience:
- Dry season (March–August, peak May–September): Average temperature of 25–32°C, little rain, and dry weather. This is the most ideal time to climb Ngu Binh Mountain because the steps are dry, visibility is clear, and the air is fresh. Lush greenery and cool breezes from the Perfume River make the journey easier.
- Rainy season (September–February): Heavy rain, especially with storms from September to December. The stone steps are prone to slipping, and thick fog reduces visibility, increasing the risk of accidents. Temperatures are lower, but high humidity makes you easily fatigued and cold when sweating.
Weather conclusion: Regardless of the month, you must check the weather forecast 1-2 days in advance. Avoid climbing during heavy rain or high UV index hours (10:00–14:00). During the dry season, the temperature difference between early morning/late afternoon and midday can reach up to 8–10°C.
