Thien Huong Cave is situated halfway up Dong Vo (or Dong Vo) Mountain, in the Ninh Hai area, now part of Nam Hoa Lu Ward, Ninh Binh Province. The cave lies along the route from Thanh Wharf (Sinh Wharf) to Thai Vi Temple, within the Tam Coc – Bich Dong scenic landscape. The cave entrance is perched about 15 meters above ground level, nestled among the iconic limestone mountains of the Trang An region. From the Tam Coc boat station, visitors can combine a boat journey with a short walk to reach the cave.
Beyond the distinctive karst landscape, the area surrounding Thien Huong Cave is also closely associated with the Vu Lam Palace of the Tran Dynasty, a strategic base used during the resistance wars against the Yuan-Mongol invasions. Therefore, visiting this place is a wonderful way to experience Trang An from two perspectives: a breathtaking natural landscape and a land steeped in history.
